St. Charles Residences, Detroit’s West Village

V & Co. Interiors had the pleasure of staging the perfect living space at St. Charles Residences, just outside of Detroit’s West Village and within walking distance of Indian Village. This location is pleasantly unexpected for a luxury condo development, intimately nestled amongst tree-lined residential streets and born out of a desire for revitalization and reinvention of a historic landmark erected in 1912.

Many of the condos within this development have a view of downtown Detroit, just a quick 3.5 miles away; urban condo living, with downtown so easily reachable (…if you want it to be), all the while maintaining a quaint neighborhood feel. Each condo is unique, and the wide, terrazzo-floored hallways are lined with original art. Within unit 304, our interior design team added a few art alternatives; a brushed brass wine rack hung at eye level, filled with a variety of wine from Detroit Vineyards sets the mood for an intimate dinner party with friends. Antique books fill the floating shelves in the living room, while the oversized cowhide cube, modern deep-seated accent chairs and lux black velvet sofa create the perfect element of earth-toned inspiration. Scroll through to see the other rooms in this beautiful, airy space; you’ll note the inviting lines of the modern kitchen and two bedrooms, one with exposed original brick walls, the other, modern and crisp, each with their own bath. The beaming, natural light that enters the space through the oversized windows is immediately captivating. Elements of clean, modern design mixed with warmth of natural cinnamon and woods tones made this space particularly unique, and one of our favorites to adorn. We couldn’t imagine anyone walking out of this space without wanting it to be theirs!
